Wade and Bosh Named to All-Star Team

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were both named as reserves for the NBA All-Star Game

The Miami Heat will be represented at the NBA All-Star Game by Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as both players made the team on Thursday.

Wade and Bosh will be reserves for the Eastern Conference and were selected by coaches around the league. Wade was nearly voted in last week but was beaten out in the final tally by Toronto's Kyle Lowry.

This is the 11th straight All-Star Game for Wade but only his second time going as a reserve player. It remains to be seen if the guard will be able to take part in the festivities as he is batting a hamstring injury currently. Wade is out indefinitely with the injury that the team is likely to be cautious with.

Wade has played in 35 of Miami's 45 games thus far but could miss the next few at least. In the games he has played, Wade has done a great job and has played big minutes. On the year, the veteran is averaging 32 minutes, 21 points, five assists and nearly four rebounds per game.

Bosh will be headed to his tenth All-Star Game in a row. When Wade missed the cut as a starter, there was some speculation that Bosh could lose out on a roster spot. With Miami holding a losing record, it seemed unlikely that the coaches would select two players from the roster.

The year started out with Bosh posting big stat lines which he has come down from a bit. Still, Bosh has done a solid job of leading the team especially in games that Wade missed. The big man has an average of 21 points and 7.5 rebounds while playing over 35 minutes per game.

The NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 15th from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
