Man Arrested for Making More Than 1,200 911 Calls: Cops

Jason Michael Honaker, 38, faces seven felony counts of false 911 calls, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

A Gulf Coast man was arrested on charges he made more than 1,200 calls to 911 since the beginning of the year, authorities said.

Jason Michael Honaker, 38, faces seven felony counts of false 911 calls, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Since Dec. 31, 2012, to the present, the calls came from an unregistered cell phone, but it was still able to connect to 911. And each call showed that it came from the Tampa East Boulevard and Massaro Boulevard area.

"At times the caller would ramble on and other times he wouldn't speak at all," the sheriff's office said in a release.

Deputies responded to the area several time and couldn't find the caller.

"The cost of services made these false 911 calls a felony," the release said.
