Warmth continues right into the weekend with highs in the middle 80s. We may, in fact, flirt with record highs both days. Winds will really pick up on Sunday too with gusts to 30 mph out of the south. This is not going to be a good day out on the water. Please, do not take your boat out.
These strong southerly winds are in response to a cold front pushing towards South Florida. Strong storms are expected by late evening on Sunday with damaging wind gusts as the primary impact. An isolated tornado, brief heavy rain and hail are possible as well. We will be following every twist and turn and will update our homepage and the NBC6 news and weather app with everything you need to know. Our weather team will also be active on social media. Please follow us along with NBC6 on Facebook and twitter.
Conditions will improve greatly by pre-dawn Monday. Temperatures will take a hit too with highs in the 70s Monday through Wednesday. 50s for lows are likely Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Stay with us and have a great weekend.
