"The Cold Light of Day," to be directed by Mabrouk El Mechri ("JCVD"), tells the story of a young American (Cavill) whose family is taken hostage while on holiday in Spain, reported Variety. Cavill has only a matter of hours to crack a government conspiracy and find out what it is about his father that has gotten him in this mess.
Since the epic triumph on "Live Free or Die Hard," Willis' career has been in a steady worsening tailspin, bottoming out with this year's beyond disappointing "Cop Out," which is sure to be a factor come Razzies season.
But Willis has two high-profile projects that promise to get him back on track. He's got a small part in Sylvester Stallone's testosterone-fest "The Expendables," which won't wow critics, but looks to be some dumb fun. And then in October Willis stars alongside Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich in "Red," about a team of CIA assassins who reunite when their old employer decides to have them killed. The trailer has us more than a little pumped.
Beyond that Willis has a host of other projects in the works, including "Die Hard 5" and "Catch .44," in which he stars as a man who hires three beautiful young women to be assassins.
