Live Music This Week: March 10-16

Wed., Mar. 12 – Tegan and Sara at Revolution Live, 7 pm, $31


Singer-songwriters Tegan and Sara Quin have collaborated with a myriad of artists, ranging from Tiesto to The White Stripes. The Canadian duo are identical twin sisters who have been making music together since the late 1990s. Their Wednesday night show serves as their second South Florida appearance, having just wrapped up a set aboard the Parahoy! music festival.
 
Fri., Mar. 14 – We the Kings at Culture Room, 7:30 pm, $20
 
The Art of Tour makes it stop in Fort Lauderdale this Friday night, with pop punk group We the Kings headlining the show. Hailing from Bradenton, Florida, the band is comprised of a group of childhood friends who have gone on to release four albums and toured the country extensively. Also performing at Culture Room are special guests This Century and Crash the Party.
 
Fri., Mar. 14 – DMX at LIV, 11 pm, $40 - $60
 
Since the mid 1990s, rapper DMX has been a force in the hip hop scene, known best for being a key figure of the Ruff Ryders. On Friday night, the rapper-actor-author will be performing a special set at Miami Beach club LIV. UK producer and radio presenter Kayper will be kicking off the night with a DJ set.
 
Sat., Mar. 15 – Jazz in the Gardens at Sun Life Stadium, 3 pm, $60 - $499
 
Celebrating it's ninth year, Jazz in the Gardens kicks off a two day festival this Saturday. Hosted by comedian D.L. Hughley, the fest will feature a mix of local groups and major headliners, including Jamie Foxx, Kelly Rowland, and Trey Songz. Sunday night, LL Cool J, Anthony Hamilton, and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly are set to perform.
