Adam Lambert Doesn't ‘Want' To Be Tied To Summer Album

Adam Lambert's debut album is going to arrive a little earlier than he expected.

While he works toward a fall release of his RCA Records debut, Hi Fi Recordings and Wilshire Records have announced the summer release of the "American Idol" runner-up's "On With The Show." The album is compiled of songs recorded by Adam, during his pre-fame days, and it's a project he does not endorse now.

However, the "Idol" star is not supporting "On With The Show," telling Access his upcoming RCA release is where he's at musically.

"The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on," Adam's statement continued. "I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like."

As previously reported on, Adam has signed to 19 Recordings and will release an album via RCA Records this fall.

"I'm thrilled that we've come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album," Lambert said in a statement released to Access Hollywood at the time. "We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It's going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!"
