Garden Party

The Upper East Side Garden is throwing a party fit indie darlings Matt & Kim

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? Well, if it’s the Upper East Side Garden, just fine, thank you very much.

Mother Nature plopped this little green oasis on Biscayne Boulevard just two years ago, and since then, it’s bloomed into a sort of artsy commune with a green thumb. From its putt-putt course (designed by local artists) to its gardening classes, the spot is a big draw for hipsters, families and the gardening-beer-drinker in his late ‘20s.

While the traditional two-year anniversary gift is cotton, the garden (which is anything but typical) is celebrating with a mini renovation and a recital from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m on Saturday, March 28. For $10 (drinks included), look for a landscape update by Edwina von Gal and a new mural by Martin Oppel. And, of course, Matt & Kim, the Brooklyn-based indie duo, will do a little song and dance, thanks to Sweat Records.

Did we mention it’s a Matt & Kim concert for $10? That’s crazy awesome. Hopefully, they’ll even grace us with a number from their new album, “Grand.” Just be careful not to trample the new flowers while you’re dancing the night away.
