Lee Curtiss And Top Weekend Imports

Let's be honest: we've got many of the best DJs in the entire world spinning Miami every week. They're called "residents." But sometimes, a taste of the outside is a delicious indeed, so here's this weekend's juiciest one-offs of fresh, imported sounds.

Thursday
Funkagenda and Mednas at Subliminal Sessions with Erick Morrilo, Arkardia.
House label Subliminal continues its Thursday night hosting duties at the Fontainebleau with Funkagenda, a "producer's producer" and DJ whose big room house sounds and remixes of Basement Jaxx, Moby, Fat Boy Slim and Dirty Vegas saw him burst onto the international club scene with a very major 2008 and 2009. Doors at 11 p.m.

Friday
Lee Curtiss (live set) and Shaun Reeves (dj set) at Electric Pickle. Detroit takes Wynwood as these two titans of the dance floor ply their trade at Pickle. Curtiss' humourously libidinous house sensibilities have taken him everywhere from London to Ibiza, and Reeves' move from Michigan to Berlin in 2004 helped form his highly distinctive blend of American house and cutting edge post-minimal techno. Doors at 10 p.m., just $5 before midnight.

Saturday
Midnight Conspiracy at Mr. X, Grand Central. What is the midnight conspiracy? Is Jay-Z a member of this one, too? Who knows! All we care is that it'll make you move, because it's three dudes with riotous energy and supremely danceable remixes of Esser, MSTRKRFT, Editors, Cool Kids, Hey Champ, Crystal Castles, and more. Doors at 11 p.m.

Sunday
Eric Johnston for Loft168 at Ecco Lounge presented by Miami Dance Party. More Detroit? Yes, please! Eric Johnston has a habit of blending his hometown sound with stellar Euro-tinged dance music, releasing his funky miminal tech-house handiwork with stamps of approval from labels including Wolf + Lamb, Leftroom, and Cityfox. Free with RSPV.
