Police nab suspect who escaped custody in Miami

A man who escaped from police custody was caught after a nearly four-hour search Friday morning, Miami Police said.

Treon Johnson, 25, was being transported from the Miami-Dade Metro Justice Building when he escaped, Miami Police spokesman Freddie Cruz said.

Police set up a perimeter between 12th and 15th Avenue and 14th and 15th Street and were able to take Johnson into custody, Cruz said.

Cruz didn't say how the Johnson managed to escape.

Jail records show Johnson was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, escape, and resisting an officer without violence.

He was being held without bond on a warrant and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.
