"Upon arrival, the officers discovered the deceased body of a white Hispanic male. Upon the discovery of the body, the homicide unit was notified," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Sgt. Julio Padron said. "It appears at this time that the victim was murdered."

A relative of Esquivel-Navas said he was from Nicaragua and was a hard worker, showing up early at his job at the airport.

"It is too sad because my cousin was a hard-working man," said Sara Durez.

She added that her cousin worked at Miami International Airport as a cook for the last seven years. He had lived in the U.S. for the last 25 years.
