A Tamarac man is facing molestation and sexual battery charges after police say he had sex with a girl under 12 years old and sent her a photo of his penis on her cell phone.
Jeffrey Giraldo, 18, was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, two counts sexual battery on a victim under 12, and transmission of material harmful to a minor, according to a Broward County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
According to the report, Giraldo had sex with the girl at his home in January, and also sent a photo of his penis to her cell phone, despite knowing or believing she was a minor.
After an initial report of the allegations was reviewed, the victim gave police a sworn statement that gave details of the encounter and Giraldo was arrested Monday, the report said.
Giraldo was being held without bond. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
