10th Case of Zika Confirmed in Miami-Dade

A 10th Zika case has been confirmed in Miami-Dade, Florida Department of Health officials said Friday.

Officials announced a new case was also confirmed in Orange County. The total number of cases in Florida is now 26. All of them are travel-related.

So far, four cases have been confirmed in Broward County.

There have been no locally-acquired cases of Zika in Florida and none of the confirmed cases involve pregnant women.

Gov. Rick Scott has directed State Surgeon General Dr. John Armstrong to activate a Zika Virus Information Hotline for current Florida residents and visitors, as well as anyone planning on traveling to Florida in the near future. The number for the hotline, managed by the Department of Health, is 1-855-622-6735.
