2 Arrested, 1 Sought After Murder of Man Found Slain in Miami Gardens Park

Two people have been arrested and a third suspect is being sought after a man was shot and killed after he was lured to a Miami Gardens park on social media, police said.

The victim, 22-year-old Jean Cenat, was found shot to death Monday morning at Vista Verde Park on Northwest 39th Avenue, Miami Gardens Police said.

Police said Cenat had arranged to meet 21-year-old Shuneice Thomas through social media. After Thomas was located she told police she had lured him there to be robbed, officials said.

Detectives were also able to find Cenat's car, which was being driven by 23-year-old Steven Daniels, police said. When Daniels saw officers approaching, he fled in the car, police said.

During the pursuit, Daniels tried to ram the car into the officers' vehicle, officials said. He was arrested after trying to flee on foot, police said.

Thomas was charged with second-degree murder and armed robbery. Daniels was charged with resisting an officer without violence, fleeing and eluding a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer, and an open bench warrant for petty theft, police said.

Thomas was being held without bond Wednesday, jail records showed. Daniels was being held on $12,000 bond. It's unknown if they've hired attorneys.

A third suspect, 25-year-old Shelton Evans, is at-large and wanted for the murder of Cenat, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
