2 Men Rob, Carjack Woman at Miami Lakes Drive-Thru ATM: Police

Juan Jefferson, 28, and Frank Jackson, 27, face multiple charges

Two men armed with semi-automatic pistols robbed a Miami Lakes woman at a drive-thru ATM overnight and carjacked her Volkswagen Jetta, police said.

Maria Urrea, 22, was at a Bank of America drive-thru at 16320 NW 57th Ave. in Miami Lakes when Juan Jefferson, 28, of Miami and Frank Jackson, 27, of Miami got out of a green Jeep Laredo and approached her, Miami-Dade Police said.

They demanded her belongings and her car, then jumped into it and fled, police said. The Jeep, with unknown occupants inside, followed.

Police found both vehicles at NW 79th Street and I-95 and chased them, and the Volkswagen was recovered at NW 106th Street and I-95, where Jackson and Jefferson were arrested.

But when they arrived at the Miami-Dade Police headquarters for processing, Jackson briefly escaped and ran away through the parking lot, police said, before he was taken back into custody at the north end of the lot.
