Lockdown Lifted at 3 Davie Schools as Police Take Barricaded Man Into Custody

Three schools in Davie are no longer on lockdown as police were able to capture a barricaded suspect who was inside a nearby home.

Broward County Schools officials confirmed the schools – Western High, Flamingo Elementary and St. Bonaventure Catholic – were place on lockdown around 8 a.m. Friday.

NBC 6 learned that police were looking for a man involved in a domestic issue and were searching the area around Southwest 7th Street and 134th Terrace and confirmed they were dealing with a person barricaded inside of a mobile home.

Shortly after 10 a.m., Davie Police confirmed they had the suspect in custody but did not release further details.
