$25,000 Reward in U.S. Postal Worker Robbery in Pompano Beach

Authorities are searching for two men who robbed a U.S. Postal employee in Pompano Beach last month.

The robbery happened around 12:40 p.m. on April 5, U.S. Postal officials said. The suspects followed the worker from a bank stole a bag from him and fled.

There was only $140 in the bag but it was Postal Service money, so the suspects are facing federal charges, officials said.

"I would imagine they had no idea how much this gentleman was carrying with him but like I said, it's a crime of opportunity," U.S. Postal Inspection Service's Ivan Ramirez said.

The suspects fled in a 4-door, newer model vehicle, possibly a Kia Forte.

Officials released a sketch of one of the suspects, who were described as black males, one in his early 20s, the other in his late 20s to early 30s. One was about 6-foot-2 with a muscular build, while the other was about 5-foot-6 with a thin build.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with info is asked to call 1-877-876-2455.
