18 year old Jean Louis Mardochee says he was outside sitting on a car bumper, texting someone just before the shooting happened.
"The car came and it's slowing down,” Mardochee told NBC 6’s Julia Bagg. “They started shooting, I started running and I moved my arm and I got hit right there."
The high school junior came home from the hospital last night with a bandage still on his arm.
A bullet also hit Pierre Joseph's eight year old grandson in the leg. The boy was outside his front door playing ball when Joseph heard him wailing.
"My grandson’s hurt, I’m hurt too,” he said.
Mardochee also told us his 35-year-old family friend was shot, but all three victims are expected to be okay. Before Mardochee headed to school this morning, he told us his neighbor is on his mind.
"I’m scared, and I’m sorry for him."
North Miami police said they are still searching for suspects.
