Three students are accused of taking a school bus on a three-hour joyride in Pensacola.
In a news release, Pensacola police say the children found the bus outside a school with its door open and a key in the ignition on Wednesday night.
Detective Christopher Forehand says the kids drove the bus around town, briefly driving on Interstate 10. They ended up near the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Someone called police after seeing the bus swerving and hitting curbs.
Escambia County School District Deputy Superintendent Norm Ross tells the Pensacola News Journal there was minimal damage to the bus. The kids, two 11 and the other 14, weren't injured.
Ross says disciplinary action will be taken.
The students were arrested and taken to the juvenile justice center.
