58 Months in Prison for Miami Beach Assistant Principal Guilty of Child Porn Charges

A former assistant principal for a Miami Beach elementary school will be spending nearly five years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

Donald Paul Clippinger, 49, was sentenced Friday to 58 months in prison followed by 25 years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to three counts of accessing with intent to view child pornography, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida said in a news release Monday.

Clippinger will also have to register as a sex offender after his release from prison.

Clippinger was the assistant principal for Fienberg-Fisher K-8 Center at the time of his arrest and had been a 23-year employee of Miami-Dade Public Schools.

Authorities said Clippinger had accessed child pornography on three separate dates in November 2015, using a video conferencing software application. When agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at Clippinger's home, they found the computer he used to to access and view child pornography, authorities said.

His user name in the app was "666prv," according to a criminal complaint.
