Your pockets don’t need to be overflowing with cash to enjoy events and fairs during Art Basel 2017. In fact, your pockets don’t necessarily need to be overflowing with anything. While there are many pricey events during Art Basel 2017, there are also plenty of free ones. Here’s a look at six of them.
"HUMANKIND" WYNWOOD WALLS
Trek to Wynwood Walls this Thursday to see 12 new colorful murals and sculptures on display. The new installations will embody the theme of “humanKIND,” the idea of infusing "compassion and empathy in today’s society.” Participating artists include Seth Globepainter, Joe Lurato, Leon Keer and Lady Pink, among others. Wynwood Walls will be open during extended hours during Art Basel, starting on Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. until midnight. Regular hours resume on Dec. 11. For more information, click here.
BASEL HOUSE MURAL FESTIVAL
More than 50 mural projects from street artists and art organizations will be on display across six blocks in the Wynwood Art District during the Basel House Mural Festival. The free festival will be an interactive event, with live painting, mural tours and a virtual reality playground. There will also be a large, inflatable Kanye West bounce house. ART BEAT MIAMI ART FAIR
Inspired by the Caribbean, this free art fair will feature pieces from more than 30 local, national and international artists and celebrities. The fair will be open from noon to 8 p.m. from Thursday, Dec. 7 to Sunday, Dec. 10 in Little Haiti. A free preview party will be held on Dec. 6 at the Caribbean Marketplace at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. The preview party is free with a reservation (you can RSVP here.) Art Beat Miami will also feature a celebrity brunch (that event costs $50.) Proceeds will benefit hurricane relief efforts through the non-profit Little Haiti Optimist Foundation, according to the event page. For more information, click here.

BASEL AT THE YARD: THE NTH POWER
Head to the Wynwood Yard at 56 Northwest 29th St. for a free performance from The Nth Power, a soul/jazz group based in New Orleans. Lemon City Trio will open the event, which is free with a reservation. Click here to RSVP.

Craft cocktails and daily mixology presentations will be on tap during this free event in MANA Wynwood. The complimentary, four-day event will also offer a wide variety of culinary cuisine.
