It’s Tuesday, April 2nd – and NBC 6 has the top six stories you need to know for the day.

Weather wise, a mild morning is in store but you may need that umbrella for some spotty afternoon and evening showers that are in the forecast.

No. 1 - The Miami Gardens Police Department continues their manhunt for a suspect who allegedly killed his wife and 10-year-old daughter with a machete as family members plead for answers in the case.

The suspect, 57-year-old Noel Chambers, also injured his adult daughter during a domestic violence incident, according to police.

No. 2 - Miami Police are looking to identify the subjects seen on surveillance video burglarizing a home back on New Year's Eve.

The burglary happened between 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the 300 block of NW 57th Court, as surveillance video released Monday showing two men walking around the house, attempting to break in and later leaving with their hands full of stolen items.

No. 3 - Police in Los Angeles have named the man they are seeking on suspicion of fatally shooting rapper Nipsey Hussle on Monday night.

Eric Holder, 29, is wanted on a homicide charge in the shooting of the rapper, whose legal name is Ermias Asghedom, along with shooting two other people, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

No. 4 - Aides to Joe Biden struck a more aggressive tone on Monday as the former vice president faced scrutiny over his past behavior toward women.

The move came on a day in which a second woman said Biden had acted inappropriately, touching her face with both hands and rubbing noses with her in 2009.

No. 5 – There’s a new way to call for help in Broward county. Starting today, you'll be able to text 911 in emergency situations. You can use the service only in situations where it's unsafe to make a phone call, like an active shooter or domestic violence situation.

No. 6 – A South Florida family says they were being billed for months of Sunpass charges from a boat trailer that was stolen from their home.

The Andalia family says it all started after their 26-foot Proline disappeared overnight while the family was out of town last July. Despite letting Sunpass know about the stolen trailer, they still were charged more than $80 by the Miami Dade Expressway Authority – that’s when they called NBC 6 Responds.
