Blood Samples Link Man to Key Largo Burglary: Deputies

Michael Fraley faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief, authorities said

A man was arrested in the Florida Keys in connection to a burglary last year after blood samples from the scene led authorities to him, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

Michael Fraley was booked into jail on Thursday and he faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief, authorities said.

In September, the victim, a Key Largo resident, told authorities that he left his house to pick up her daughter from school and when he got home, he found the glass on his front door broken and blood on the refrigerator.

He told authorities he was "having trouble" with his brother-in-law, 28-year-old Fraley, and he thought that Fraley may have been the burglar.

Authorities went to Fraley's home and he told them he had injured his hand and shoulder in a fight with his girlfriend.

He gave a DNA sample for the blood, which were sent for testing. and were returned in January. They confirmed the blood at the burglary scene belonged to Fraley, authorities said.

It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
