Broward Woman Shot While Driving Overnight, Rushed to Hospital

A woman was rushed to the hospital after being shot while driving with her boyfriend early Friday morning.

Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kayla Concepcion said officers received a call just before 3 a.m. that the victim was in a car going westbound on Broward Boulevard when she was struck, forcing the car the veer off the road and strike a parked car near Northwest 31st Avenue.

Lauderhill Fire Rescue units transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center, where her condition is not known at this time.

Police do not believe that the shooting was random, but would not confirm reports that the shooting may have stemmed from an incident earlier in the evening at a nearby club.
