A Sunrise resident had the shock of his life when a car slammed into his home, leaving a pile of damage.
No one was injured, but the home on the 1200 block of 60th ave. was heavily damaged.
Police said the driver was a 15-year-old boy who was being taught to drive by his 20-year-old brother.
A resident of the home said he was cooking in the kitchen when he saw a red flash outside the window, then heard a huge boom.
At first he said he thought it was an earthquake but soon realized a car hit the home.
Besides the damage to the outside of the home, the kitchen suffered heavy damage inside as well.
The home was deemed unsafe to live in and the American Red Cross is is providing temporary housing for the family.
