Chuck E. Cheese's Offers “Pay Your Age” Deal After Build-a-Bear

What to Know

  • Chuck E. Cheese's called on everyone who “didn’t get to Build A Bear” to come to a participating location for "All You Can Play."
  • The promotion comes a day after Build-a-Bear Workshop had to close its lines after a surge in popularity for the same offer.

After crowds of people swarmed Build-a-Bear workshops across the country for the company’s “Pay Your Age” promotion, Chuck E. Cheese’s announced its own deal that allows customers to pay their age for “30 minutes of fun.”

In a Facebook post, the gaming company called on everyone who “didn’t get to Build A Bear” to come to a participating Chuck E. Cheese’s location for 30 minutes of “All You Can Play,” described on the website as “the ultimate gaming experience.” The Pay Your Age offer is available at any U.S. location where Chuck E. Cheese’s Play Pass is available, the post said.

The promotion comes a day after Build-a-Bear Workshop had to close its lines at all U.S. and Canadian workshops after a surge in popularity for the same “Pay Your Age” offer. In a statement, Build-a-Bear said the response to the first-of-its-kind sale "has been overwhelming and unprecedented in our 21-year history."

While the Chuck E. Cheese’s “Pay Your Age” promotion is the same as Build-a-Bear’s in theory, there are some caveats. The offer is only available Friday, July 13, and caps at $9 for 30 minutes.
