Detectives Searching for Man Who Stabbed Housemate in the Neck: BSO

A Pompano Beach man is wanted by authorities after he allegedly stabbed his housemate in the neck Tuesday in their home.

The attack happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home located in the 400 block of Northwest Tenth Avenue in Pompano Beach.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office report, Brandon Wilson lured his housemate, 57-year-old Mark Gougeon, into a bathroom and attempted to slash his throat with a knife.

Wilson stabbed Gougeon until he collapsed in the bathtub, BSO says. Gougeon told officials he played dead in the tub, which prompted Wilson to stop the violent attack.

Officials say Gougeon was able to escape once Wilson became distracted.

Gougeon was treated and transported to Broward Health North where he remains in stable condition.

Detectives are searching for Wilson for attempted murder.
