Face Off: Woman Arrested for Illegal Botox Injections

Palm Beach woman had been injecting women in her condo for years, police allege

Nora Patricia Hidalgo promised to give women a new look at a discounted price.

Unfortunately for one Miami-Dade woman, that new look almost meant rearranging her face.

Hidalgo, 56, was arrested after police said she was administering illegal Botox injections and doing tattoo work out of her Palm Beach condo, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Officials didn't get wind of the illegal business until a woman from Kendall was sent to the hospital after her face nearly exploded.

The 59-year-old woman received a Botox injection from Hidalgo in March, but two days later her face began to swell grotesquely. She went back to Hidalgo, who promised to fix the problem.

The woman eventually had to be admitted to Jackson Memorial Hospital with a swollen face that had become very hot. Doctors said the woman's swelling was caused by an infection from being treated from the same Botox bottle as other Hidalgo patients.

Police believe Hidalgo has been operating without a medical license for years and she was charging $300 per Botox treatment.

She is officially charged with practicing without a license resulting in bodily injury and possession, with intent to sell, drugs without a prescription.
