What to Know

  • Officials delayed the event, scheduled for November, in an effort to get more big-money donors to attend.

The Republican Party of Florida is moving their biggest fundraiser of the year, with the keynote speaker being President Donald Trump, to Miami next month.

NBC affiliate WESH-TV reports the party’s website says the event will be relocated from Orlando, where it was supposed to be held at Disney’s Grand Floridan Hotel, to Miami on December 7th. The website did not say where the event will be held.

Officials delayed the event, scheduled for November, in an effort to get more big-money donors to attend. Trump was confirmed for the event earlier this month.

It will be the second event the President will be in South Florida for as he is expected to attend a presidential rally at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on November 26th before likely spending the Thanksgiving holiday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach County.
