The ice cream chain will dish out free ice cream at participating full shoppes from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering free junior soft serve cups or cones of freshly made vanilla, chocolate, and even limited-time soft serve ice cream made with Nutella hazelnut spread.
Guests are also encouraged to help raise money for the American Red Cross on Free Cone Day. Throughout the day, Carvel will offer $2 coupon books with more than $20 in savings.
All proceeds from the sale of the coupon books will go toward an anticipated $20,000 donation to support disaster relief efforts.
The chain launched a partnership with the American Red Cross in 2012. This year, they will surpass $125,000 in total contributions to the American Red Cross since that partnership began.
Best known for their colorful novelty cakes and treats featuring Fudgie the Whale, Carvel celebrated 80 years of serving "America's freshest ice cream" last year.
The company boasts that all treats are handcrafted at local shops daily and made only with authentic soft-serve ice cream.
