Group Selling Umbrellas From Coral Gables Art Display Ahead of Final Weekend

What to Know

  • Friday through Sunday, the installation will be open for people to come and snap their photos before it is taken down on Monday.
  • However, if you fell in love with the display that was just the third showcased in the United States, you can buy one for $25.

If you haven’t been able to catch the Umbrella Sky art project in Coral Gables since it opened in mid-July, this weekend is your final chance – but you now also have the chance to take part of the art installation home with you.

Friday through Sunday, the installation will be open for people to come and snap their photos before it is taken down on Monday with a professional photographer on the Giralda Plaza site on Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. to snap pictures of the over 720 umbrellas that make up the display.

However, if you fell in love with the display that was just the third showcased in the United States, you can buy one of the umbrellas for $25 – with each item coming with an authenticity stamp and all the proceeds going to the Community Arts Endowment Fund for future public arts projects.
