Heat Lead From Start to Finish in Win

The Heat never trailed on Saturday as they snapped a two-game skid against Minnesota

The Miami Heat opened up a big lead early and never looked back in their 102-92 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

With the win, Miami is now 4-2 on the season and it ended a two-game skid. Minnesota mounted a comeback and cut Miami's lead to only four late in the final quarter. Earlier in the game, the Heat were up as by much as 20 points.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were both big reasons that the Heat held on to the win in the fourth quarter. Both stars dominated the quarter and squashed the comeback effort. Wade and Bosh had great games overall as well continuing what has been fine seasons for both men.

Wade scored 25 points and had eight assists in 30 minutes. Wade added a couple of steals and was an efficient 11-16 from the field. In what was the first game of a back-to-back, Wade looked youthful and full of energy. It is expected that Wade will play again in the second half of the back-to-back.

Bosh logged 35 minutes of play in which he had 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Bosh has scored at least 21 points in every game this season and has been a consistent supplier of rebounds as well. The seven boards were the lowest amount tallied by Bosh thus far on the year but still tied for the team lead in this one.

Norris Cole looked much better in this game after struggling in the past two. Cole who had combined for two total points in the two losses for the Heat had 11 points on Saturday. Cole also added six assists and even two rebounds to go along with a pair of steals.

Rebounding remained a problem for Miami especially of the offensive variety. The Heat had only six second chance opportunities as opposed to 17 for the Timberwolves. Overall Minnesota had 49 boards while Miami had 40.

The Heat will take on the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday in search of their second road win of the year.
