Keys Nose Ring Ripper Guilty

Man who beat, ripped girlfriend's nose ring out with teeth found guilty

A Key West man who went on a drunken rampage, pulling his girlfriend's nose ring out with his teeth and beating her badly, was found guilty of assault.

Donald Lee Faulkner will learn his fate next month when he's sentenced in the 2008 New Year's Eve thrashing that left his girlfriend's cheek broken and her nose with an extra nostril, according to the Key West Citizen.

Faulkner, 47, was found guilty on Thursday of beating Christine Barton, 46, after a long night of drinking at the Caribbean Club in Key Largo.

Faulkner reportedly was enraged after Barton became "too friendly" with other bar patrons.

The argument carried on to a house, where Faulkner threw Barton to the ground and began attacking her. She broke a bone in her hand in addition to the cheek break, but the nose ring rip was perhaps the most brutal offense.

A neighbor, who witnessed the aftermath, said Barton was beaten so bad she was unrecognizable.

Faulkner is facing a max of 15 years in prison.
