Lyft is letting its foot off the gas in Broward County.
The ride-hailing service is leaving the county, following in the footsteps of rival app, Uber.
The change will take effect on July 31, the same date Uber plans to leave Broward.
The announcement stems from new rules for drivers requiring chauffeur registration, vehicle permits and commercial insurance.
Lyft called these requirements "unnecessarily burdensome," that will "make it nearly impossible to operate."
