Man Hospitalized After Mauled by Three Pit bulls in Lauderhill: Police

A man was transported to the hospital late Saturday night after being mauled by three pit bulls in Lauderhill, police said.

The man suffered severe injuries to his face, legs and throughout his body, according to police. He was taking a walk on the 3100 block of Northwest Fourth Court when the dogs apparently escaped from a fenced-in yard and attacked him.

Lauderhill police said the owners of the pit bulls kept the animals in cages, but someone at the home was cleaning out the cages at the time of the incident. The owners were issued a citation and Animal Control is determining what will happen to the dogs.

The unidentified victim was transported to the Broward Health Medical Center by Lauderhill Fire Rescue. Police say he is listed in serious condition and have not yet released his identity.

In October 2017, police responded to another animal incident at the same address. They would not disclose whether the same dogs were involved.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
