A man is in custody after police say he randomly attacked a woman with a chainsaw outside a motel in Palm Beach County Tuesday morning.
Lantana Police officials said the woman, who is in her 60s, was walking along Hypoluxo Road near a Super 8 Motel in Lantana when a man jumped out of some bushes and attacked her around 7:15 a.m., WPTV reported.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, 20-year-old Juan Cabrera Jr., was taken into custody and will face a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
Officials said Cabrera admitted to the attack.
"He did make a comment to the investigator that he saw the lady in the area and he stated 'I'm gonna end this woman's life,'" Lantana Police Chief Sean Scheller said.
