A Marine's missing ring that was found on a bike ride in southwest Florida is on its way back to its owner.
Patti O'Brien found the Marine Corps ring during a bike ride in Cape Coral last month. She posted a picture of the ring on Facebook and asked for help tracking down its owner.
O'Brien tells the News-Press that she was overwhelmed by the thousands of people who shared her post to help find the right Marine.
The photo eventually found its way to Ben Comtois, whose son is a Marine. He was able to confirm engravings on the ring as his son's initials, platoon number and boot camp graduation date.
O'Brien and Comtois plan to meet soon to reunite the ring with Comtois' son.
