Murder Suspect Eludes Authorities Again: Deputies

Felix Alex Torrealba, 26, is wanted in connection with a Broward County murder

A man wanted in connection with a Broward County murder is on the run again.

Felipe Alex Torrealba, 26, fled authorities Thursday night before they arrived at the southwest Florida home where he was staying, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. He is believed to have fled from the home in Lehigh Acres near Fort Myers with his 22-year-old girlfriend, Dayana Garcia, a 5-year-old boy and a 4-month-old girl, the BSO said.

It is likely Torrealba and his passengers are traveling in a rented Mercedes C300 with a Texas tag reading CD7P374.

The 26-year-old is wanted for questioning in the murder of 42-year-old Kris Smalls of Weston, who was found dead in his SUV in March one week after he was reported missing, deputies said.

Torrealba is also wanted in connection with a January incident in which he was shot in the ear by a Sweetwater Police officer as he fled a traffic stop.

The murder suspect has gold teeth and tattoos covering both of his arms, and also has a tattoo on his neck that says “Jillian.” The BSO said Torrealba should be considered armed and dangerous.

Torrealba has a history of arrests and has warrants for his arrests in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, deputies said. The BSO asks anyone with information on his whereabouts to call it at 954-321-4210.
