Parts of Jackson Memorial Hospital Evacuated After Building Catches Fire

Miami Fire crews evacuated parts of Jackson Memorial Hospital Saturday after a fire broke out.

Officials say work was being completed to a building and the roofing material is what caused the fire.

Smoke detectors and fire alarms alerted hospital staff and they began evacuating patients as a precaution, Jackson Health officials say.

Miami Fire Rescue safely put out the fire. No one was hurt or in danger at the time of the fire.

Fire crews conducted air tests, confirming it's 100 percent clean and safe.
