Police Responding to NW Miami-Dade Scene Where 2 Dead Bodies Found: Footage

Police said they were responding to a death investigation near NW 25th Street and NW 133rd Avenue

Miami-Dade Police said they recovered two bodies near NW 25th Street & NW 133rd Avenue Tuesday.

Police said earlier that they were responding to a death investigation there. Aerial footage showed officials covering bodies at 4:35 and 4:37 p.m. in separate spots in the rural area west of Florida's Turnpike on the edge of the Everglades.

Investigators said both bodies were found in shallow, marshy water.

Miami-Dade Police said they received a call about two people who were missing late on Sunday.

“We did have family members approach us. This began as a missing persons investigation," police spokesman Detective Roy Rutland said. "It then led to as you can see a pretty comprehensive search, and that search did in fact yield two individuals here behind me.”

The family brought police to the location, Rutland said.

Marie Fernandez said she was hoping that one of the dead was not her friend's son.

"This is a coworker that’s suffering and is in a lot of pain and she’s a mother," she said.
