    Suspect Caught, 1 Sought After Robbery Involving Stolen Taxi

    One suspect was caught and another was being sought after a robbery involving a stolen taxi in Miami. (Published Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016)

    One man has been arrested and police are searching for a second suspect after they robbed a man using a stolen taxi in Miami-Dade early Thursday.

    Around 1 a.m., a man called police after saying he was robbed by two men at gun point outside of a Bank of America branch off Northwest 36th Street and 12th Avenue.

    Officers spotted the taxi in Northwest Miami-Dade before the driver sped off. The driver would eventually crash into a pole near Northwest 7th Avenue and 135th Street before both people inside would jump out and run.

    A gun was found inside the taxi and police were able to capture one of the suspects, who was identified as 19-year-old Kelly Vixamar.

    Officials from several agencies, including Miami-Dade Police, are helping in the search for the second suspect.
