Reward in Oakland Park Murder Increased

Friends chip in, reward up to $5,000 in McMurray case

Friends of a South Florida man found murdered inside his Oakland Park home Monday night have increased the reward for information that helps find his killer.

The reward in the death of Alfred McMurray, 31, was raised to $5,000 as police search for suspects in what they described as a "brutal" and "violent" murder.

McMurray's body was found inside his home at 1386 Northeast 34th St. after concerned friends couldn't reach him. The friends called 911 and described what they saw inside the home.

"When I looked through the windowpane, I saw [him] on the floor and I just saw blood," the friend tells the 911 operator. "I couldn't look at it so I left."

McMurray's truck, which was stolen from the house, was later found abandoned in Lauderhill.

Anyone with information on the murder is asked to call Broward CrimeStoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
