School Bus Driver Cited for Crash into Pond

A Tampa Bay area school bus driver has been cited for a crash that ended with the bus overturned in a pond.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday that 54-year-old Lenoir Sainfimin was cited for careless driving.

Authorities say the bus was carrying 27 students from Mary E. Bryant Elementary School through Odessa Thursday afternoon when it left the road, went into the pond and fell onto its side.

Sheriff's officials say an independent mechanic inspected the bus and determined that mechanical failure was not a factor.

No serious injuries were reported.
