    What to Know

    • Jen Selter, who has made a career of posting images while offering workout tips, was removed from a flight headed to New York City.

    • American Airlines issued a statement confirming that she was asked to leave following a “disagreement."

A social media fitness model found herself kicked off a flight at Miami International Airport this weekend after an argument with an American Airlines employee.

Jen Selter, who has made a career of posting images of herself in bikinis while offering workout and health tips to her nearly 21 million followers on Facebook and Instagram, was removed from a flight headed to New York City on Saturday.

Selter posted several videos on her accounts showing an argument she and her sister got into with that airline employee, as well as one showing Miami-Dade police telling her to leave.

American Airlines issued a statement confirming that Selter was asked to leave following a “disagreement,” adding that the airline offered to pay for a hotel and transportation for the night, but Selter declined and left on another flight Sunday morning.

The gossip website TMZ reported that the argument began after the flight bound for LaGuardia Airport was delayed due to mechanical issues, after the 24-year-old was told to sit down by a flight attendant after she went into the overhead compartment for an item.

Officials from Miami-Dade Police or American Airlines have not confirmed that information.

NBC 6 reached out to Selter for comment.
