Authorities say a 2-year-old child was fatally injured after being hit by a CSX train northeast of Tampa. The boy's babysitter, 26-year-old Heather Henderson was also hit and injured.
The incident happened just before noon Monday in Zephyrhills.
According to witnesses, Henderson had taken the child and his four-year-old sister for a walk near the train tracks. When the train came around the bend, she was able to safely grab the little girl. However, Henderson and the boy could not move out of the way in time.
Both were flown to the hospital, but the toddler died from multiple traumatic injuries. The condition of the babysitter is unknown.
