Accused Park Groper Facing New Charge in Hollywood

A man accused of groping women in multiple South Florida parks is now facing a battery charge for a similar incident in Hollywood, police said Friday.

Ricardo Ruiz, 26, was charged in the March 16 incident. He was arrested earlier this week in Davie for groping a woman in Vista View Park and was accused of groping a woman at Brian Piccolo Park in Cooper City.

Ruiz has since posted bond and was released from jail. It's unknown if he's hired an attorney.

According to the latest allegations, a woman said she was walking in the 7600 block of Sheridan Street when she was approached from behind. The woman said she suddenly felt a hand between her legs touching her vagina and then felt a smack on her buttocks, according to an arrest report.

She turned around and yelled at the man, Ruiz, who said "but it looked so good," the report said. The woman started kicking and punching and Ruiz fled when she began calling 911, the report said.

It wasn't until the woman saw a sketch on the news on March 25 that she contacted police.
