Arrests Made After Three Key Deer Found Tied Up Inside Car in Monroe County

Deputies from Monroe County and officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission made a shocking discovery when they pulled over a vehicle Sunday morning – three Key Deer tied up inside.

A MCSO deputy had pulled over the vehicle for a broken taillight when he discovered two of the deer inside the car bound with heavy twine, according to the FWC Facebook page. An officer from the agency arrived at the scene as well as other deputies.

At that point, another animal was found in the trunk.

Two men inside the vehicle were arrested on multiple charges, including animal cruelty and injuring an endangered species. All three deer were released back into the wild.
