Florida Highway Patrol officials say the shooting took place just after 12:30 a.m. Monday on the Palmetto Expressway eastbound near Northwest 27th Avenue. Witness reported hearing gun shots and seeing two cars, a white Porsche sedan and another white vehicle, exchanging fire.
Investigators say one person walked into a nearby emergency room following the incident, but have not released his condition.
"At this time we can't determine if this was a road rage incident or that this was an altercation that started somewhere else and ended up there," Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez said.
Anyone with information is asked to call FHP or Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers.
