Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck By Minivan in Pompano Beach

Authorities are investigating after a cyclist died early Sunday after he was struck by a minivan in Pompano Beach late Saturday night.

The crash happened around 9:12 p.m. in the 300 block of Southwest 12th Avenue, Broward Sheriff's Office Officials said.

The 46-year-old man was cycling ahead of a 2000 Honda Odyssey when he was struck from behind. The bicycle didn't have proper working lights, officials said.

Fire Rescue workers took the man to Broward Health North where he later died. The driver of the minivan stayed at the scene.

BSO traffic homicide detectives are investigating the crash.
