Blood Drive Taking Place Tuesday to Help Boy Critically Hurt in Golf Cart Accident Last Week

What to Know

  • A blood drive has been organized to help a boy critically injured during an accident while riding in a golf cart July 4th in Palmetto Bay.

One week after an accident between a car and a golf cart in a Palmetto Bay neighborhood sent multiple teenagers to the hospital, a blood drive has been organized for Tuesday to help one of the victims.

A family friend of 12-year-old Devin Bennar posted a Facebook message detailing the event, taking place at Perrine Elementary school:

Bennar was one of five people between the ages of two and 16 who were riding a golf cart when it reportedly ran through a stop sign and was hit by another car on July 4th. Bennar and the 16-year-old driver of the golf cart were hospitalized. The other three were either unhurt or treated at the scene.
