BSO Deputies Cracking Down on Illegal Parking at FLL

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are reminding motorists that parking along roadways surrounding the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is dangerous – and illegal.

Broward deputies said Tuesday that motorists who ignore airport parking rules will now be issued a hefty $110 citation.

As the number of parking violators increase, as well as the amount of roadside trash being left behind, so are the fines.

Illegal parking fines have increased from $35 to $79 over the past 15 years, and deputies issued 5,746 tickets to FLL parking violators in 2016, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Officials encourage drivers picking up passengers from the airport to use the designated cellphone waiting area or the parking garages to avoid being fined.
